The waiting area for the Chinese Medicine rooms is a self enclosed glass atrium like area. This was added on as an extension to the passage way and captures the beautiful warming northern light (so bright we will have to have some special blinds to reduce glare but capture the warmth for those chilly Melbourne winters). Waiting in this space will be a pleasure, warm and open with a gorgeous view to a Chinese inspired garden design by dirtscape dreaming to the outside and a light atrium gardne to the inside , I have heard will contain orchids! My favourite !

Meanings of Orchids

Interesting to note we use Fibonacci mathematics (natures maths) to divide objects and the spacing of objects to ensure natural flow can occur in even apparently solid objects like cabinets and furniture positioned in a room, remembering they are all vibrating particles ultimately and thus should also concur with natural forces.

The essence of the Fibonacci Principle or use of Fibonacci sequences is to ensure each and every proportion is in a comfortable ratio. What appears to be a piece of furniture is actually a mathematically ordered sequence, much like a sunflower or a shell – they are nature’s perfectly ordered sequence.

Standard heights, widths and depths of furniture, shelving, general ‘objects’ have been known and used for hundreds, if not, thousands of years. For example, table heights for eating /working are 750cm. The geometric relationships and archetypal shapes and patterns that occur and reoccur through out the physical universe are deeply rooted in nature.

The Fibonacci sequence is a mathematical sequence where each number in the sequence is determined by adding together the previous two: 0,1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55...

The ratio of adjacent numbers in the sequence progressively approaches the golden mean proportions of 1:1.618.

I am pleased to include an excerpt written by the owner Dr Anne Small.

The new Moonee Ponds MindBody Health Centre will have its official opening ceremony on the auspicious date of 9 September 2009.

It will be the largest integrative health centre in Australia comprising 15 consulting rooms, a medical treatment room, a large yoga room, which will also be available as a function centre for daytime or weekend seminars, a children’s playroom, 2 meditation rooms, staff room and large reception area.

The new centre will be located at 23 Gladstone Street - it is not far from Puckle Street, and the original centres.

The new centre has been meticulously designed both inside and outside. Dakini Design formulated the interior of the building based on the principles of Sacred Geometry, Feng Shui and Geomancy. For example, the curved walls of the reception area assist in the flow of energy and the feeling of nurturing and support.

The grounds around the building were designed by Dirtscape Dreaming, who won two gold medals at this year’s Garden Show. The curved path from the street leads you through the moon gate and the meditation garden so that you have time to unwind from outside stress before your appointment.

The builders, MSP Builders, have worked tirelessly for over a year and they too have provided important contributions into the designs e.g. the curved roofs in the consulting rooms and the entrance porch.

Inside are wonderful works of art to please your eye and excite your innate senses. The colourful glass art front windows are based on the Flower of Life upon which principles of all life forms are designed. The Nautilus shell is based upon the Fibonacci sequence, the mathematical principle of life.

Everyone involved in the project is touched by its energies. It will be a powerful healing centre and one we hope will serve all in the community.

emfs....what does this mean?

perhaps a rather mundane and ordinary shot , but important from the point of view that it was extremely important to eliminate the electro magnetic feild that could radiate into the building and have an affect on the staff and patients . This is of utmost importance in all homes and businesses but became a huge priority for this particiularly space .
The best solution was to locate the data and switch and cabling up in the roof, which had plenty of room and would be up and away from human body level. On top of this we lined the floor of the upper roof service area with a spcial foil known to protect from emf's or electro magnetic field raditation.

Just over 100 years ago, human exposure to electric and magnetic fields was limited to those fields arising naturally. Within the last 50 years there has been a dramatic growth in the use of electric power and valid questions are now being raised concerning safe levels of exposure to man-made electric and magnetic fields.

What are electric and magnetic fields (EMF)?

A small piece of iron held near a magnet will move towards and attach itself to the magnet. The iron is attracted to the magnet because of the magnetic field which surrounds it. The earth itself is a huge magnet, and it is the earth's magnetic field which, for example, controls the direction of the needle on a compass.

Electricity also produces fields:

• A field called the electric field occurs when an electric charge or voltage is present and results from the force electric charges exert on each other.
• A magnetic field is produced by the movement of the electric charge, that is, by the flow of electric current. The magnetic field effect is used in electromagnets and electric motors.

Unlike natural fields, which remain relatively constant, fields produced by electrical equipment usually change rapidly with time. Electricity in Australia is supplied as alternating current at a frequency of 50 cycles per second. This means that the electric and magnetic fields reverse their direction 50 times every second.

The plaster is on and the form of the design and layout is taking shape, check out this amazing orb in the top right ! This pic looks into the hall way between the left and right sides of the building and there will be a water feature in the middle against the back wall on the left.

There was a final crystal to be placed within the partition wall in one of the rooms. This is particularly intrinsic to the connection of the dragon line and its continued activation within the new building.

Not every builder would be open to all of this energy stuff and we are most grateful to Michael and his amazing team of very open and very patient people.

the yoga and function room

This is the passage way leading to the yoga and function room
and this will be the yoga studio and function room.
There will be regular yoga classes run from this studio and also regular and ongoing functions as the studio is equipped as a fully functioning venue with kitchenette, projection theatre, crystal star lights in the dome style ceiling and the ability to create varying atmospheres via the lighting, large double open able window doors leading to a contained courtyard and outdoor lighting so that it can be used both day and night.

the old toilet block becomes new

These are some pics of the old toilet block area ...well, every building has one , and even though it is a little discussed topic , i still think the efforts to recreate this one are worth mentioning !
Check out all the bricks that were removed ( and cleaned , by hand no less , by a very important and experienced master builder who claimed he would never do such a task again in his life ! ) it just goes to show the amazing efforts and endless hours going in to this , and no task is too great or small .

This toilet block falls into the south sector of the feng shui chart and as such could have a draining affect on the quality of this area so we will be addressing this with remedies.

All bathrooms and laundries have a draining affect on the corrresponding feng shui.
This can be a positive thing if the feng shui shows an inauspicious star and thus will drain the negative affect it has; or , if the area has really positve stars in this part of the chart it could drain this positive aspect and thus would need to be addressed to limit the affect this has.
