some opening pictures

The Moonee Ponds MindBody Health Centre is the largest integrative health centre in Australia offering a wide range of both traditional and complementary healing modalities. The Centre comprises 15 consulting rooms, a medical treatment room, a large yoga room-which will also be available as a function centre for daytime or weekend seminars, a children’s playroom, two meditation rooms, staff room and large reception area.

The new Centre has been meticulously designed both inside and outside. Dakini Space Alchemy formulated the interior of the building based on the principles of Sacred Geometry, Feng Shui and Geomancy, for example, the curved walls of the reception area assist in the flow of energy and the feeling of nurturing and support.

The grounds around the building were designed by Dirtscape Dreaming, which won two gold medals at the 2009 Garden Show. The curved path from the street leads you through the moon gate and the meditation garden so that you have time to unwind from outside stress before your appointment.

Inside are wonderful works of art to please the eye and excite your innate senses. The colourful glass art front windows are based on the flower of life upon which principles all life forms are designed. The Nautilus shell is based upon the Fibonacci sequence, the mathematical principle of life.

The builders, MSP BUILDING GROUP, worked tirelessly on the project, and they too have provided important contributions into the Centre’s designs, such as the curved ceilings in the consulting rooms and the entrance porch.

Everyone involved in the project has been touched by its energies. We have created a powerful healing centre and one we hope will serve all in the community.

The Opening

Dr Small

Michael Paino of MSP Building Group

Dakini Space Alchemy had the great honour of working with MSP and his team of very talented professionals and subcontractors. Never have we seen a site so clean and well maintained, even during demolition! Never before have we had the chance to redesign on the spot certain aspects of the interior because the builder has"had an idea to make this work better " or "what do you think of this Lana?" So many little details and not a stone left unturned.

Lana Whittington of Dakini Space Alchemy Interior Designer & Feng Shui consultant.
Lana's role for MBH was to translate the client’s brief of a desire to design with principles of sacred geometry and Feng Shui to create a practical and functional, aesthetically beautiful interior sacred and healing space.
“Anne asked for a centre in which people can heal even by just sitting in the waiting area , and that is exactly what we created. Consciousness awakens and aligns with the universal energy of who we really are. The building is a facilitator of this in its every little detail,” said Lana.

Using geomancy and sacred geometry as the building blocks of design development; layered onto this we incorporated traditional Feng Shui. We selected the most ecologically sensitive building products where possible throughout the centre and eliminated electromagnetic field interference. We selected quality and specific finishes and fixtures throughout , all of which tell a story about the geometry present within the space.

Maxim Haim consultant to Dakini Space Alchemy
Maxim Haim consults in traditional geomancy, establishing the earth's existing energy lines, lay lines, dragon lines, underground water, nexus points, mobile personal lines and other influencing energetic ‘hot spots’.
Having identified ‘hot spots’, he either activates or deactivates the specific ‘spot’ and surrounding areas by the use of crystal placement and other specific remedies to block an unnatural flow or unblock the natural flow, allowing the site to restore itself to its existing and natural energy quality for the benefit of Gaia earth.
“From the very first site meeting at the new Centre, I could not believe how clean the site was energetically... not an overhead power line in sight, which is increasing rare these days,” said Max.
It is vital this kind of energy work take place before and in conjunction with Feng Shui and design overlay because the earth’s magnetic field and its associated positive and negative lines and watercourses can greatly affect the outcomes of both design and feng shui . the feng shui and design then acts to correct and offer the best possible layout , materials , colours and remedies appropriate to the site specifically.

The Vision

Dr Small has an overarching request;
"to design a building that enables and supports healing for all who enter it "

What a fantastic idea and request , there should be more buildings like this; in fact, all buildings can be made to exude these principles.

Dakini Space Alchemy's key design principles are to weave energetic awareness and sacred geometry into the design. We believe the result of this Health Centre will help in understanding why we hold these ideas as so important.

Introducing the practitioners; without whom, the Health Centre would simply be just a building!
Congratulations and many thanks to the support of wonderful friends , colleagues, clients and community.

Dr Small's vision has created a healing space that benefits not only each person who enters , but the surrounding community at large.

The Wurundjeri People

Acknowledging the custodians of the land and this site. The Wurundjeri People were ivited to perform their indginoies dance and digeridoo playing.

The territory of the Wurundjeri lies within the inner city of Melbourne and extends north of the Great Dividing Ranges, east to Mt Baw Baw, south to Mordialloc Creek and west to Werribee River.

The Wurundjeri are a tribe composed of a number of different clans that own separate pieces of land or estates. Although they are distinct in this way, the clans of the Wurundjeri tribe share many things in common.

Of prime importance is their collective identity as Wurundjeri tribesmen and tribeswomen.

They are the ‘Witchetty Grub People’ (‘Wurun’ meaning the river white gum or Eucalyptus viminalis, and ‘jeri’ meaning the grub that lives in the tree).
