another beautiful shot of the stairs
curving off the lower steps
The amazing Adrian working like a trooper as always. The sensitivity and care taken in every detail, whether it be the fitting of architraves, thesanding of reused timber doors, or this curving off of the lower steps and stairs; his work is outstanding, precise and executed with an open heart. Yes a rare breed of builders we have been blessed to work with indeed.
There is a Sufi saying, “All lines are destined to become circles.” It is known in physics that since all motion is curved and all curvature is spiral, all lines ARE destined to become curved. This principle was incorporated into all aspects of the center’s design. Wherever there are lines and especially where lines meet, energy is fragmented. Curved lines allow energy to flow freely and continuously, allowing the energy to become more powerful, rather than wasted in fragmentation. Wherever it was possible to soften a hard line with a curved treatment, it was designed that way. This went from the reception desk to the wavelike wrought iron sign in the front of the building, to the arches that soften the hard lines of the ceiling. It was Dakini Design’s intention to move from hard straight lines, into offering a feeling of the more softened, spherical embrace of curved feminine lines to amplify the healing energy within the space.
